Company Overview:

Amass is the parent company of Augment Human Resource Services and Augment Professional Services (APS). Augment specializes in high-volume general labor staffing across the sanitation and environmental services industries, while APS focuses on technical and professional staffing within the tech, energy, and engineering sectors. As part of Amass's back-office team, the Payroll Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll for a nationwide temporary workforce and internal employees.

Position Overview:

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate processing of weekly payroll for hundreds of temporary employees across multiple clients and job sites. This role supports both Augment Human Resource Services and Augment Professional Services, ensuring timecards are collected, reviewed, and processed in a timely and compliant manner. The ideal candidate is highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll for all temporary workers and internal employees across both Augment brands using Paycom.
  • Collect, verify, and audit timecard submissions from multiple sources, including digital and client-submitted formats.
  • Coordinate with Account Recruiting Managers (ARMs) and client Site Supervisors to ensure accurate hours, job codes, and pay rates.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with state and federal laws, including wage/hour regulations and tax withholding.
  • Maintain accurate employee and payroll records in alignment with company policies and legal standards.
  • Assist with direct deposit setup, garnishment processing, W-2 requests, and year-end tax filings.
  • Support audits and internal reporting as needed for finance, HR, and compliance teams.

Identify opportunities for payroll process improvement and contribute to workflow optimization.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state, high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems; Paycom experience strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of payroll practices, wage and hour law, and tax withholding regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and digital communication tools.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus but not required.

Work Schedule & Conditions:
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible around payroll deadlines).
  • Location: In-Office
Workload: Heaviest on Mondays and Tuesdays; must be available to meet weekly payroll submission deadlines.

Education:
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.

Why Join Amass:
  • Be part of a mission-driven team supporting two dynamic staffing brands across critical industries.
  • Help power weekly payroll for frontline and professional workers nationwide.
Join a collaborative, supportive back-office team with opportunities to grow into broader finance and operations roles.
