Job description

Location: Cleveland, OH

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a highly skilled Senior Dayforce IT Applications Engineer with strong technical, analytical, and problemsolving abilities to support our Dayforce HCM platform. This role will be responsible for managing Dayforce configurations, reporting, integrations, release testing, and ongoing support for Payroll, Benefits, HR, and IT stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Dayforce HCM Administration

  • Work closely with Cleveland-Cliffs Payroll, Benefits, HR, and IT teams to understand business needs related to the core Dayforce modules including Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits, Reporting Analytics and Workforce Management.

  • Maintain organizational structure configurations

  • Develop, maintain, schedule Dayforce custom reports

  • Administer and support Dayforce integrations including DF Link, Integration Studio, Dayforce Imports & Exports and API-based or file-based integrations with third party vendors.

  • Troubleshoot failed integrations, resolve data mapping issues, and partner with vendors as needed.

  • Execute and monitor recurring data jobs and automation tasks.

  • Analyze Dayforce release notes and assess system impact.

  • Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for system releases, patches, and new features.

  • Document test cases and ensure quality delivery of new configurations.

  • Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and technical support to external vendors.

  • Assist in troubleshooting in Technical & Development Skills

  • Utilize Webservice and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.

  • Leverage working knowledge of C#/.NET and Java to troubleshoot, maintain and develop custom HR applications (Union Officers, Vacation planning, Apprentice system).

  • Use Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros) for data validation and analysis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Dayforce HCM in an administrator, analyst, or technical role.

  • Strong working knowledge of Dayforce configuration and reporting, Integrations and HCM processes.

  • Experience with SQL querying and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with VB.NET, Java, or equivalent programming languages.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work.

  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and proactive.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale HRIS initiatives.

  • Knowledge of API integrations or web services.

  • Dayforce certifications in Payroll, HR, or integrations.

  • Experience with SDLC processes, Jira, DevOps, GIT, or release management tools.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
