Job description

Professional Upholsterer (1099 Contract) - Haiku, Maui, HI
Maui Upholstery Services works with hotels, resorts, and high-end residential clients across Maui. We've built our reputation on quality, and we need a skilled upholsterer who can deliver work that holds up to that standard.
Compensation:
Piece-rate per project. Strong, efficient upholsterers earn $8K to $12K+ per month based on output.
Responsibilities:
- Full reupholstery on residential and commercial furniture
- Frame repair, spring tying, webbing, and foam replacement
- Cushion fabrication, welting, tufting, and pattern matching
- Measuring, cutting, and sewing fabric to spec
- Managing your project pipeline and hitting agreed deadlines
- Maintaining a clean, organized work area
Required:
- Minimum 5 years professional upholstery experience
- Ability to complete projects independently, start to finish
- Own hand tools (shop provides industrial machines and equipment)
- Verifiable references from past clients or employers
- Reliable transportation and consistent communication
Preferred:
- Formal upholstery training or apprenticeship background
- Experience with hospitality, marine, or outdoor upholstery
- Experience in high-end residential markets
