Job description

Job Summary

Be a part of a growing company working with a great team! Our Manufacturing Department has an immediate Full Time need for an Upholsterer. Our ideal team member will have humility & respect, speed & simplicity, discipline, be a team player and be able to accomplish tasks with minimal direction.

Duties

  • Be responsible to make or repair upholstery for Abrego designed furniture.
  • Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, and/or staples.
  • Build furniture up with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, and/or foam padding to form smooth rounded surfaces.
  • Make, restore, and/or create custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of sketches and design specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Upholsterer or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools specific to upholstery work.
  • Strong sewing skills with experience operating a sewing machine.
  • Ability to assemble furniture and fabricate upholstery components accurately.
  • Knowledge of auto restoration processes is a plus but not required.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Distance vision, and Ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to climb a ladder occasionally. The employee may have to lift items overhead.
