About the Role
Theprimary responsibility of this position is to perform maintenance and repair ofplumbing systems across campus and ensure they are kept in an operable andreliable condition at all times
What You'll Do
  1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.
  2. Work under the supervision of the plumbing department with primary responsibility and ownership in the maintenance and repair or replacement of:
    1. Campus water mains
    2. Campus sewer mains
    3. Faucets, valves, shower heads, mixing valves, etc.
    4. Hot, tempered and cold water systems
    5. Water heaters and water softeners
    6. Water closets, urinals, lavatories, bathtubs, and other fixtures
    7. All drains, traps, waste and vent lines
    8. Sump pumps, roof drain systems and campus surface water drainage systems
    9. Installation and repair of all piping systems related to plumbing
  3. Miscellaneous
    1. Make recommendations for needed repairs, replacements, or new systems
    2. Provide care and security of all tools and plumbing equipment assigned to this trade
    3. Assist Welder in fabrication and repairs of various equipment on campus
    4. Assist Kitchen tech in repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment
    5. Maintain availability for call back to perform emergency or critical repairs. This "on call" schedule will require on call duty approximately three to four times a year. When designated "on call" must be able to report to campus within 30 minutes of receiving call.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Valid driver's License
  2. Journeyman License or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire
  3. Competent computer usage

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Two years trade or technical college degree in related field
  2. Service plumbing experience
  3. Proven apprentice leadership & mentoring experience
