Job description

Position Summary:
The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for assisting Electricians with installing and maintaining electrical and power systems. This position supports Electricians in installing electrical wiring in commercial buildings, troubleshooting malfunctions and blackouts, and repairing electrical systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in installing electrical systems.
  2. Install lighting, electrical outlets, and circuit breakers.
  3. Thread conduit ends and connect couplings and conduit fittings.
  4. Secure brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduit leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
  5. Replace faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire.
  6. Replace old fuse boxes.
  7. Hook up appliances for power.
  8. Install new lighting and ceiling fans.
  9. Consult with engineers, engineering technicians, line installers and repairers, or industrial machinery mechanics and maintenance workers when performing installations.
  10. Assist in rewiring commercial buildings.

  2. Ability to use electrical tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and analyze electrical drawings and blueprints.
  3. Knowledge of working in commercial electrical systems.
  4. Knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines.
  5. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
