Job description

We are looking to hire a Framing Carpenter Site Lead Hand to help construct homes and other wood frame structures. The ideal candidate for our growing team is a person who is committed to a career in Carpentry, with 3+ years of experience preferably in residential framing. To be successful with our company, you should be familiar with lay out, able to work under minimal supervision, and demonstrate a high level of knowledge of home construction. You will be expected to work independently, collaboratively, and supervise apprentices as required. Ultimately, an exceptional framing carpenter lead hand should be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Accurately measuring and cut dimensional lumber and engineered wood products

Assisting with floor, wall and roof construction

Time management

Site supervision as required

Building Layout

Installing stairs, windows and doors

Interpreting blueprints and engineered drawings

Completing hazard assessments and maintain a safe work environment

Performing general labor duties and clean up as required

Assisting with training and supervision of apprentices as required

Framing Carpenter Requirements:

Valid Drivers License

Knowledge of residential wood framing systems

Knowledge of trade related math

Proficiency with hand and power tools

Basic framing pouch and hand tool set up

Physical strength and stamina

Problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills.

Hardworking and able to readily accept and apply direction from supervisor

Applicable tickets an asset eg: Fall Arrest, Telehandler Operator Certification
