A Career that Empowers You to Build Your Future

As a Software Engineering Manager I, you will lead a small team of software engineers, guiding them in the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, supporting team members in their professional growth, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.

Your Responsibilities on the Team

  • Oversee the development and implementation of software projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as product management, to ensure seamless integration of software features.

  • Monitor project timelines and work to remove obstacles that may delay progress.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent.
  • Lead a full-stack squad building React and TypeScript front ends on Python and FastAPI services.
  • Contribute directly to delivery by writing production code, designing APIs, and reviewing architecture across the stack.
  • Set and hold the review bar for AI-assisted development, including agent instructions maintained in the repository, automated pull request review, and clear human accountability for every merge.
  • Own the CI quality gate and the promotion path through development, UAT, and production.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the incumbent to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • 8+ years of experience building and operating production software, including web applications and backend services.
  • 4+ years of mentoring and developing junior and mid-level software engineers.
  • 4+ years of experience in team management and project delivery.
  • Strong engineering background with a concentration on distributed systems and service integration.
  • Ability to set business KPI’s and help track, manage and interpret them to all levels of leadership.
  • Production experience with Python and FastAPI, and with React and TypeScript, sufficient to review both sides of a full-stack change.
  • Hands-on daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar), with clear judgment on when to trust, verify, or override their output.
  • Experience leading engineers across multiple time zones.
Life at Lennar
  • Our Associates have access to robust health insurance plans, including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage, ensuring their health needs are well taken care of.
  • Our 401(k) Retirement Plan, complete with a $1 for $1 Company Match up to 5%, helps secure their financial future, while Paid Parental Leave and an Associate Assistance Plan provide essential support during life's critical moments.
  • Education Assistance Program and up to $30,000 in Adoption Assistance, underscoring our commitment to their diverse needs and aspirations.
  • Up to three weeks of vacation annually, alongside generous Holiday, Sick Leave, and Personal Day policies.
  • New Hire Referral Bonus Program, significant Home Purchase Discounts, and unique opportunities such as the Everyone's Included Day.
