Job Summary
IES Residential is seeking motivated and dedicated Electrical Apprentices to join our team. As an apprentice, you'll work under the guidance of experienced electricians to develop your skills, gain hands-on experience in residential installations, and grow your electrical career within a supportive and safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the installation of electrical systems in residential buildings, including wiring, lights, outlets, meters, panels, and devices.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install electrical conduit using hand tools and power tools.
  • Support the layout and installation of service entrance equipment and underground conduit for new construction homes.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical systems and circuits under supervision.
  • Help maintain tools, materials, and work areas in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, PPE usage, and company and industry electrical codes.

  • Solid communication skills and the ability to take direction.
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to read blueprints or diagrams (a plus but not required).

Work Environment Expectations:
  • Outdoor Conditions: Must be willing and able to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, and rain.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting materials (up to 50 lbs). This role requires agility and stamina to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Team Environment: You will work closely with journeymen and master electricians and must be a team player who takes initiative and learns quickly.
