Applied Technology Solutions, Inc. (ATS) is seeking a highly motivated Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the development of advanced hypersonic wind tunnel capabilities and complex aerospace systems in Huntsville, Alabama.

This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and technical leaders supporting challenging national defense and aerospace programs. If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems, collaborating across disciplines, and building scalable MBSE solutions that directly support critical mission objectives, ATS wants to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain MBSE models for complex system-of-systems architectures using Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw
  • Support advanced hypersonic wind tunnel development efforts and related engineering activities
  • Create modeling standards, guidebooks, and best practices to support collaborative multi-user model development
  • Partner with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define system requirements, interfaces, behaviors, and architecture relationships
  • Support systems engineering lifecycle activities including technical reviews, requirements management, and milestone execution
  • Train and mentor engineering team members in MBSE methodologies and model administration
  • Communicate technical and program status through MBSE artifacts and model-driven insights
  • Contribute to innovative engineering solutions supporting cutting-edge aerospace and defense initiatives

Required Qualifications

We’re Looking for Candidates With:

  • Demonstrated experience developing MBSE models using Cameo Systems Modeler / MagicDraw for complex system-of-systems designs
  • Experience developing MBSE modeling standards or guidebooks supporting multi-user environments
  • Experience applying systems engineering processes across the engineering lifecycle
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience supporting cross-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience supporting United States Department of Defense or NASA engineering lifecycle activities and milestone reviews
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or training team members in MBSE model development and administration
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace, mechanical, or other physics-based engineering experience
  • Familiarity with engineering and requirements management tools such as IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DNG), Jama Connect, and Jira
  • Experience supporting hypersonic systems, wind tunnel development, or advanced R&D programs
  • Familiarity with model-based design integration across multidisciplinary engineering teams
