ESTIMATED PAY RANGE

Engineer III: $43.27–$49.04/hour

Senior Engineer: $46.63–$53.85/hour

Final compensation is based on experience, skills, and alignment with role expectations. Paid overtime may be available.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Mechanical Engineer – Electrical Enclosures & Systems Design in Cypress, TX, you will:

  • Serve as a core contributor to Systems Solutions design efforts, supporting strategic growth and customer‑focused engineering outcomes
  • Lead and coordinate medium‑scale mechanical engineering designs across a rapidly expanding business segment
  • Develop new mechanical designs and provide expert guidance on existing projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to cross‑functional teams, ensuring on‑time delivery and high‑value engineering solutions
  • Drive clarity, manufacturability, and ease‑of‑execution in all design recommendations
  • Collaborate closely with the Sr. ETO (Engineering-to-Order) Design Manager and engineering partners across the organization
  • Oversee creation and release of drawings, analyses, test plans, and engineering documentation
  • Select appropriate mechanical components for project construction
  • Create new parts and Bills of Material and load them into the ERP system
  • Track, support, and report design changes throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide documentation support to application engineering, sales, and estimating teams
  • Support manufacturing and production teams in resolving build challenges
  • Prepare quote packages and recommend design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce cost
  • Apply technical standards across reviews, documentation, and design work
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Houston, Katy, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, Jersey Village, Hockley, Waller, and Magnolia, and the greater Houston, TX metro

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Experience with mechanical systems including sheet metal enclosures, structural systems, and thermal management
  • Background in small‑ to medium‑scale system design (electrical enclosures, panel layout, seismic considerations, heat management)
  • Proficiency with major ERP and CAD systems (SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
  • Working knowledge of ASME, NEMA, UL, IEC, and related mechanical engineering standards
  • Skilled in generating and reviewing engineering documentation (BOMs, drawings, tolerance stack‑ups, GD&T)
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
  • Understanding of structural and thermal analysis using FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar)
