Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect to lead and support software development initiatives within Client's Business Systems Engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in J2EE/Java, JBOSS, MS SQL, and Oracle database environments and demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, and implement IT solutions while effectively collaborating with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze business processes and requirements to design technical solutions.
  • Conduct technical research on tools, databases, and methods to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop and implement applications using J2EE, Java, and JBOSS with Oracle or MS SQL databases.
  • Plan and coordinate project activities, including defining tasks, estimating resources, and identifying risks.
  • Manage and resolve technical issues, defects, and system performance problems.
  • Prepare documentation, including requirements, test plans, and performance reports.
  • Support procurement processes, proposal evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Provide regular status updates to project managers and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and assist in architecture design and system integration.

Mandatory Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Applications Architect on enterprise IT projects.
  • Proficient in Java (1.6 or higher), J2EE, and frameworks like JSF, Spring, or Struts.
  • Expertise in Oracle 11g+ or MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and triggers.
  • Skilled in configuring, testing, and debugging software solutions.
  • Experience in integrating multiple systems and automating data sharing processes.
  • Strong business analysis, requirement gathering, and documentation skills.
  • Knowledge of source code management tools (e.g., CVS, Subversion).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with tools and technologies such as JOSSO, SMTP, IMAP, Unix scripting, JUnit, log4j, Ant/Maven, and MS Visio.
  • Proficiency in test automation and performance testing.
  • Familiarity with MS SQL Server and database visualization tools.
