Job Title: Application Support Engineer – AMI (Utilities Domain)

Location: Phoenix, AZ/Remote

Duration: Full-time

Start Date: ASAP

Job Description: Seeking an Application Support Engineer to manage and support AMI systems for a utility client. The role includes Support for AMI Project upgrades, system monitoring, incident handling, integration checks, user access management, and ensuring reliable AMI operations across environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced metering Project Support

  • AMI upgrade project Support
  • Monitor HES, MDMS, communication networks, and data flow.
  • Track integration status and job performance. 
  • Proven experience with Windows Server 2019, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, such as system administration, package management, and security hardening.
  • Basic understanding of network communications, including protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Fundamental scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and routine tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.

 User Access & Security

  • Handle user setup, removal, and password resets.
  • Ensure compliance with security and access policies.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Validate data loads, VEE processes, and reconciliation reports.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly operational summaries.
  • Maintain SOPs and technical documentation.

Collaboration

  • Coordinate with network, server, functional, and vendor teams.
  • Support deployments, patching, and maintenance windows. 

Required Technical Skills:

  • Windows Server 2019 – installation, configuration, administration
  • RHEL – system admin, patching, security hardening
  • Networking basics – TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls
  • Scripting – PowerShell, Bash
  • Strong troubleshooting for hardware/software/network issues
  • ServiceNow incident management
  • SQL/MSSQL scripting
  • Integration monitoring and server diagnostics

 Domain Knowledge (AMI / Utilities):

  • AMI ecosystem: HES, MDMS, meters, communication networks
  • Understanding of VEE, billing determinants, interval data
  • Knowledge of firmware updates, remote connect/disconnect, event monitoring
  • Familiarity with CIS, OMS, GIS integrations
  • Exposure to utility billing and field operations workflows

 Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • ITIL Foundation (preferred)
