Overview

We are seeking an experienced Application / Production Support Engineer to provide production support for enterprise applications and batch processing environments. This role will monitor batch processes, troubleshoot application issues, manage incidents, and work closely with technical and business teams to maintain system stability.

Strong communication skills are essential, as this position will work closely with both technical and non-technical teams and coordinate with offshore support teams.

Must-Have Skills
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Application or Production Support
  • Strong hands-on experience with Autosys
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Shell scripting
  • Experience supporting batch processes and job scheduling
  • Experience with Hadoop or similar enterprise data environments
  • Good knowledge of SQL and Oracle or similar databases
  • Experience with production incident management and troubleshooting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues simultaneously
Responsibilities
  • Monitor batch processes and feeds through completion and troubleshoot failures
  • Respond to alerts and production issues and drive timely resolution
  • Investigate application issues, identify root causes, and recommend preventative solutions
  • Create and manage production incidents using clear business language
  • Work with development, infrastructure, database, and business teams to resolve complex issues
  • Use enterprise monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, ITRS/Geneos, and similar platforms
  • Support scheduled jobs using Autosys
  • Perform troubleshooting in Linux/UNIX environments and utilize shell scripts
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-base articles
  • Provide clear status updates and maintain communication throughout incidents
  • Participate in production releases, post-release validation, and ongoing application support
