Role: MES Support Engineer / MES Application Support Lead
Duration: 6 months
Location: Grand Rapids, MI 49512 (100% Onsite)
Overview
Seeking an experienced MES Support Engineer to provide operational support, monitoring, incident management, and application administration for its Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment. The MES platform is built on ThingWorx technology and includes the following applications:
Connected Work Cell (CWC)
Asset Monitoring & Utilization (AMU)
Real-Time Production Performance Monitoring (RTPPM)
The selected resource will support manufacturing operations, manage incidents and service requests, coordinate with multiple technical teams, and ensure stability and availability of the MES ecosystem and its integrations.
Key Responsibilities
MES Application Support
Provide operational support for ThingWorx-based MES applications (CWC, AMU, RTPPM).
Manage incident, service request, defect, and deployment-related tickets.
Perform ticket triage, prioritization, tracking, escalation, and closure.
Support production stabilization, hypercare, and post-deployment activities.
Coordinate issue resolution across business, plant operations, infrastructure, application, and integration teams.
Integration Support
Monitor and support integrations between MES and:
Oracle E-Business Suite (Kittyhawk)
TIPQA
Data Lake / Redshift
WebMethods interfaces
IGS / OPC-UA / Databridge communications
MTConnect and Kepware environments
Brady Printers and Laser Etching systems
System Administration & Maintenance
Monitor application health, alerts, performance, CPU and memory utilization.
Support software patching, upgrades, security updates, and validation testing.
Coordinate maintenance activities and planned outages.
Support lower environments (Development and QA) and validate changes before production deployment.
Maintain support documentation, procedures, ticket updates, and operational logs.
Operational & Reporting Support
Provide daily status reporting on incidents, risks, blockers, and escalations.
Participate in operational reviews, leadership updates, deployment checkpoints, and handoff meetings.
Deliver monthly SLA and operational performance reports, including:
System availability
Ticket volumes and resolution metrics
Root cause analysis
Corrective and preventive actions
