Job description

Job Summary:
Barnes & Thornburg LLP is a law firm seeking an Application Analyst to contribute to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise-level software. The role involves ensuring application functionality, troubleshooting issues, implementing updates, and collaborating with IT teams and users for optimal performance and security.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzes and evaluates application requirements to ensure optimal performance
• Collaborates with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve application related issues
• Implement updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain application functionality and security
• Monitors system health and performance, proactively addressing potential issues before becoming an issue for our internal customer
• Utilizes process automation and best practices to enhance technology efficiency and effectiveness
• Tests fixes/solutions and provides follow-up communication with the end-user to ensure application issues have been adequately resolved
• Builds and maintains positive working relationships with team members and internal customers
• Collaborates with vendor support and issues resolution
• Utilizes AI-Powered tools, including Large Language Models (LLMs), to support research, troubleshooting, documentation creation, workflow optimization, and operational efficiency while adhering to firm security and confidentiality standards
• Participates in the planning and implementation of new applications
• Ensures data integrity and security within applications
• Stays updated on industry trends and best practices related to application analysis
• Attends meetings with internal customers and/or outside vendors to jointly determine and prioritize needs
• Provides end user training as needed
• Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities concerning issue remediation and procedures standards
• Trains other team members on troubleshooting and diagnosing problems
• Participates in efforts to develop and implement processes for applications and systems monitoring
• Responsible for problem management activities such as issues resolution and root cause analysis
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business-related field or 4 years of related work
• Proven experience as an Application Analyst or similar role
• Prior law firm experience involving application support for a minimum of 1 year desired
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
• Working knowledge of generative AI concepts and Large Language Models (LLM’s), with demonstrated ability to responsibly leverage AI tools for research, process improvement, and operational support while maintaining data privacy and security standards
• Ability to effectively interface with a technical and non-technical staff at all organizational levels
• Demonstrated troubleshooting ability in software
• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining various applications
• Strong understanding of problem management, change management, and IT best practices
• Knowledge of security best practices for application administration
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
• Highly self-motivated, self-directed, attentive to detail, and able to multi-task
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
• Basic knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to technology issues and data privacy laws and practices
