Application Integration Engineer
Security Clearance: US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a public trust
Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Implement application integration capabilities in support of a large-scale platform modernization program delivered through iterative agile execution.
Responsibility 2: Develop, configure, test, and support RESTful APIs, service integrations, messaging flows, data transformation logic, orchestration components, and interface services connecting legacy Java applications with cloud-native or microservices platforms.
Responsibility 3: Work under guidance to apply architecture patterns, API standards, security, and data integration approaches.
Responsibility 4: Select and implement integration patterns including synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven integration, batch processing, and workflow orchestration.
Responsibility 5: Design secure AWS access and connectivity with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, VPC, resource policies, and secure API exposure.
Responsibility 6: Establish operational visibility through CloudWatch metrics, logging, alarms, distributed tracing, and operational runbooks.
Responsibility 7: Support deployment and operations with strategies for deployment, rollback, incident response, capacity management, and cost considerations.
Responsibility 8: Implement secure integrations using OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, JWT, or similar standards.
Responsibility 9: support event-driven architectures, messaging systems, and asynchronous processing with SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kafka, or similar.
Responsibility 10: Develop and support Oracle databases and SQL activities including query development, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Responsibility 11: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements, resolve dependencies, and support testing.
Responsibility 12: Document technical details, interface behavior, data mappings, API contracts, and operational procedures.
Responsibility 13: Troubleshoot defects, interoperability issues, data quality problems, API errors, authentication, database performance, cloud service issues, and deployment challenges.
Responsibility 14: Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, release planning, and operational transition activities.
Responsibility 15: Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to increase reliability, reduce manual effort, and improve platform maintainability.
Requirements
Requirement 1: Bachelor's degree required.
Requirement 2: Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years of professional experience in software engineering, application integration, API development, or related roles.
Requirement 3: Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration patterns, especially between Java applications and modern cloud-native platforms.
Requirement 4: Experience integrating Java and Python applications with APIs, messaging, data transformation, and orchestration.
Requirement 5: Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, CloudWatch.
Requirement 6: Knowledge of implementing secure integrations with OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT, or similar.
Requirement 7: Understanding of enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, messaging systems, and asynchronous communication.
Requirement 8: Solid experience with relational databases like Oracle, including data modeling, query development, and performance tuning.
Requirement 9: Working knowledge of NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra.
Requirement 10: Ability to design domain models and implement domain-driven design principles.
Requirement 11: Experience with data integration involving mapping, transformation, validation, and migration.
Requirement 12: Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, Git version control, DevSecOps, and SDLC processes.
Requirement 13: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across applications, APIs, databases, cloud, and deployment environments.
Requirement 14: Excellent documentation skills including maintaining API details, data mappings, and operational notes.
Requirement 15: Ability to collaborate effectively in Agile teams with Solution Architects, developers, vendors, security, and business stakeholders.
Requirement 16: Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in dynamic environments with minimal supervision.
Requirement 17: Experience provisioning AWS resources via infrastructure as code and deploying via automated pipelines.
