Job description

At Apple, we focus deeply on our customers’ experience. Apple Ads brings this same approach to advertising, helping people find exactly what they’re looking for and helping advertisers grow their businesses.
Our technology powers ads and sponsorships across Apple Services, including the App Store, Apple News, and Sports. Everything we do is designed for trust, connection, and impact: We respect user privacy, integrate advertising thoughtfully into the experience, and deliver value for advertisers of all sizes-from small app developers to big, global brands. Because when advertising is done right, it benefits everyone.
Apple Ads is looking for a Narrative Designer to lead the creation and production of strategic and innovative design and communication solutions for our internal communications and experiences.
Description
As a Narrative Designer on the Apple Ads team, you will be the driving force behind our internal visual narrative. Your work will play a crucial role in maintaining Apple’s distinctive aesthetic across all internal communications, from visually compelling presentations and campaign designs to broader creative deliverables.
In this role, you will manage the development of strategic narratives, cohesive communication campaigns, brand identities, and multimedia assets. You will be responsible for activating graphic design across channels, ensuring a unified visual language that meets Apple’s high standards.
You will act as a decisive visual leader, partnering with senior leaders, strategists, cross-functional stakeholders, producers, and program managers to define, guide, and execute communications. By translating strategic direction into fresh, high-quality work, you will turn complex ideas into clear, compelling designs for our most innovative audiences.
You bring a deep appreciation for the mechanics of narrative-rhythm, pacing, iconography, and tone. Thriving in ambiguous spaces, you operate with high autonomy to bring clarity to complex challenges, seamlessly shifting between focused, independent execution and collaborative iteration.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate concepts through sketches and/or prototypes.
Hands-on proficiency in video editing and motion graphics.
A deep understanding of the Apple design aesthetic, UI, and history.
Comfortable experimenting with emerging technologies and media formats to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Interaction, Media Arts, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in branding, product, or communication design.
Proven track record of using storytelling to create compelling communications that drive engagement for global audiences.
Expertise in crafting high-quality presentations and communications design, with a portfolio showcasing an aesthetic aligned with Apple’s visual identity.
Command of visual and communication fundamentals (typography, grids, iconography) applied effectively to narrative assets.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, adept at working both independently and cross-functionally across all levels.
Proven mastery of Keynote, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, and Final Cut.
Medium-agnostic approach to design, tailoring your expression to the context: written, visual, spatial, or experiential.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects from ideation to execution in a fast-paced environment.
Direct experience handling sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
Ability to be onsite; this role is an in-person, onsite position.
Available to work nights and weekends as needed.
Up to 20% + travel required; both domestic and international.
