Job description

The Watch Systems Architecture team is seeking a hands-on engineer to help shape the
future of wearable technology. As a key member of our team, you'll support the
development of next-generation products through a combination of architecture work,
prototyping, analysis, and technical validation. You'll have the opportunity to dive deep
into system-level challenges, work closely with architects and engineers across various
disciplines, and contribute to a product that impacts millions of users worldwide.
Description
We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in Electrical and/or Computer
Engineering, experience with system design and validation, and a passion for technical
problem-solving. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and
demonstrate the ability to translate system requirements into practical implementations,
simulations, and test plans.","responsibilities":"System Design & Analysis: Contribute to the architecture and design of Watch systems, working alongside senior architects to define specifications and evaluate design trade-offs. Develop simulations and analytical models to predict system behavior and validate design decisions. Particular emphasis is paid to power consumption, and conversion, Definition of PMIC (Power Management IC) and peak power management.
Technical Validation & Characterization: Build prototypes and develop test plans to validate new features and system improvements. Conduct measurements and analyses to characterize performance, identify optimization opportunities, and ensure robust system operation.
Data Analysis & Modeling: Create and maintain analysis scripts and tools to process measurement data, generate insights, and support design decisions. Develop simulation models to explore design spaces and predict system-level impacts.
Feature Development: Support end-to-end feature implementation by defining hardware/firmware partitioning, validating interfaces, and ensuring alignment with system requirements and user experience goals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with architecture, hardware, firmware, and software teams throughout the development cycle. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly through documentation, presentations, and technical discussions.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Experience with embedded systems, power management, or sensor integration
Familiarity with system modeling and simulation tools
Experience with wearable devices or battery-powered systems
Knowledge of one or more areas: computer architecture, wireless connectivity, or low-
power design
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in system design, validation, or architecture
Proficiency in developing simulations and data analysis scripts using Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar languages
Experience with lab equipment and measurement techniques (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills, with the ability to document and present technical
findings
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
