Job Title: Retail Merchandising Specialist
Location: Alexandria, LA
Job Type: Independent Contractor
Pay: $19-$22 per hour (rate based on market and relevant experience)
Expected Hours: Varies, Project-Based
Job Overview:
Winston Retail is seeking a passionate, detail-driven apparel merchandiser to bring fashion to life at the store level. As an apparel merchandiser, you'll ensure clothing is styled, organized, and presented to reflect brand identity and attract shoppers. Working hands-on in stores, you'll be responsible for styling mannequins and displays to create a polished, trend-forward shopping experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies that align with company standards
  • Execute planograms to optimize product placement and maximize sales with apparel and hardline merchandise
  • Communicate effectively with team members and store management regarding merchandising needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in different store settings
  • Manage monthly scheduling to ensure store visits and merchandising deliverables are completed by assigned deadlines, demonstrating strong time management and accountability
  • Submit store visit reports, including taking before and after photos and writing feedback, using our Winston App on a smart device
  • Smartphones are required for reporting:
    • IOS: Use an iPhone 11 or newer
    • Android: Use a 2020 or newer device with an OS no more than four versions behind the latest
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for the entire shift

Experience & Skills:
  • Proven experience in apparel merchandising or a related field is preferred
  • Experience working with mannequins (assembling, updating, and styling)
  • A portfolio of work is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with planograms and visual directives is essential
  • A keen eye for detail and creativity in presenting apparel displays
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
