Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience leading technical project strategy, AI/ML design, and working with industry-scale ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine-tuning).
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with generative AI tools and models for creating media, including text, image, and video generation.
  • Experience with model quality infrastructure, Direct experience with building evaluation datasets, designing evaluation techniques, and implementing automated or human-in-the-loop rating paradigms for generative AI models.
  • Experience in model fine-tuning, quality hillclimbing, and advanced prompt engineering techniques to optimize generative outputs.
  • Experience working with or designing AI agents to support creative content generation workflows.

We are looking for a senior level team lead to lead design and development of Content Creative Generational Experiences, the next version of Google Product Studio for Merchant Shopping Organization.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $262000 - $365000 (USD) 25% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Work along-side a team of engineers to drive the design and development of content creative generative experiences, with expanding to more AI strategies in future.
  • Apply the image/video/text models to generate content that SMBs need.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and research to help provide feedback and improve core model quality for foundational image/video/text models. Work with cross-functional partners such as UX/Product Managers/Program Managers/UX Researchers to define the direction and strategy for the area. Your work will impact 5 Million plus initial merchants, one of the largest merchant ecosystems in the world.
  • Acquire and apply skills to build/leverage core ML infrastructure such as evaluations, model tuning, Responsible Artificial Intelligence (RAI) etc.
  • Provide technical guidance/mentoring to the team to build reliable infrastructure.
