Apartment Make Ready Technician – Multifamily

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Apartment Make Ready Technician to join a multifamily property maintenance team. The Make Ready Technician will be responsible for preparing vacant apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, replacements, touch-ups, installations, and final inspections to ensure each unit is clean, functional, and move-in ready. The ideal candidate has previous apartment make-ready or multifamily maintenance experience, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and understands the quality and urgency required when turning vacant units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete apartment turns and prepare vacant units for new resident move-in
• Inspect vacant apartments and identify necessary repairs or replacements
• Perform drywall and sheetrock patching and minor repairs
• Complete interior touch-up painting and basic preparation work
• Repair or replace blinds, fixtures, hardware, doors, locks, and other apartment components
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, sinks, disposals, and minor leaks
• Complete basic electrical repairs such as replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and bulbs within applicable safety guidelines
• Install and replace appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, washers, and dryers
• Assist with flooring repairs and other minor carpentry work
• Replace caulking and complete other cosmetic repairs as needed
• Test appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and other unit components before move-in
• Remove trash, debris, furniture, and abandoned items from vacant units
• Maintain an organized work area and properly care for tools and equipment
• Communicate unit status, required repairs, and material needs to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager
• Assist with service requests and general property maintenance when needed
• Ensure completed apartments meet community standards before resident move-in

Required Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with general repairs, maintenance, construction, remodeling, or apartment turns
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and general repair work
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned units within established deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and quality of workmanship
• Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and lifting/moving heavy items

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous apartment Make Ready Technician experience
• Multifamily maintenance experience
• Experience completing full apartment turns
• Appliance installation and troubleshooting experience
• Drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and carpentry experience
• Experience working in occupied apartment communities
• Familiarity with work orders and apartment turnover deadlines
