Reports to: Assistant Principal
Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Secretary to AP with Testing Support to provide administrative and clerical support to the Assistant Principal while assisting with campus testing activities. This position plays a critical role in supporting campus operations, student services, and the successful administration of state and local assessments.
Primary Purpose
Provide administrative support to the Assistant Principal and assist with campus testing activities. Ensure efficient office operations while maintaining confidentiality and supporting student achievement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree or additional clerical training preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of student information systems and educational software preferred
  • Knowledge of state and local testing procedures preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard office equipment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Experience
  • Previous clerical, secretarial, or administrative support experience required
  • Experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience supporting testing activities preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Administrative Support
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Assistant Principal.
  • Maintain calendars, schedules, appointments, and meeting arrangements.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents as requested.
  • Maintain student records, files, and documentation as assigned.
  • Assist with campus communication and information dissemination.
Testing Support
  • Assist with preparation and administration of state, district, and campus assessments.
  • Prepare testing materials, student rosters, and required documentation in accordance with district and state procedures.
  • Assist with organizing testing schedules, room assignments, and testing logistics.
  • Maintain testing records and documentation as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory, distribution, collection, and secure storage of testing materials.
  • Support testing day operations and ensure testing procedures are followed.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of testing-related paperwork and reports.
  • Perform testing-related clerical duties as assigned by campus administration.
Student and Parent Services
  • Assist students, parents, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Respond to inquiries and direct concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Support attendance, discipline, and campus administrative processes as assigned.
Office Operations
  • Answer telephone calls, receive visitors, and route communications appropriately.
  • Maintain office supplies, equipment, and records.
  • Process forms, requests, and reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with campus events, meetings, and special projects as assigned.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and personnel information.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Support campus and district initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Principal.
