Operations Controller

North Houston

The Operations Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, revenue auditing functions, compliance reporting, and accounting procedures for a high-volume hospitality and gaming operation in North Houston. This leadership role ensures the integrity of all financial reporting, internal controls, audit functions, and regulatory compliance while providing strategic financial oversight to support operational success.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on financial leader with strong experience in revenue audit, gaming operations, cash management, financial reporting, and team leadership. This position oversees all daily audit activities involving gaming and non-gaming revenue streams, including Cage/Vault operations, gaming machines, food & beverage outlets, retail operations, kiosks, and promotional programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all financial operations, including accounting, revenue audit, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions.
  • Oversee daily gaming revenue and Cage/Vault reconciliations, including all cash and non-cash transactions, journal entries, and flash reporting.
  • Ensure all audits and procedures are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
  • Manage audits for gaming and non-gaming revenue including food & beverage, retail, kiosks, promotions, and complimentary programs.
  • Review monthly revenue reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Monitor and investigate variances, exceptions, meter discrepancies, and operational irregularities.
  • Assist with internal and external financial and compliance audits while maintaining proper documentation and reporting standards.
  • Maintain tax reporting processes, deposit logs, and year-end financial compliance requirements.
  • Develop, mentor, and supervise accounting and audit team members while maintaining staffing levels to support operational demands.
  • Provide leadership in process improvements, financial controls, operational efficiencies, and systems training.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, gaming, and financial regulations.
  • Partner with operational leadership to support profitability, accountability, and financial performance initiatives.


Qualifications


Required

  • Minimum 3โ€“5 years of financial leadership experience in gaming, casino, or high-volume entertainment operations.
  • Strong background in revenue audit, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
  • Experience overseeing gaming and non-gaming revenue operations preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting or audit teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Preferred

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Gaming or casino accounting experience highly preferred.
