Antitrust Associate Attorney

Locations: New York, New York; Washington, DC

Direct Counsel is seeking an Antitrust Associate to join the nationally recognized Antitrust Practice Group of a premier global law firm. This is an exceptional opportunity for an associate with antitrust litigation, merger review, or regulatory counseling experience to work on sophisticated domestic and cross-border antitrust matters for leading global clients.

The practice is known for handling high-stakes antitrust litigation, merger investigations, government enforcement actions, and strategic counseling matters across a broad range of industries. Attorneys in this group work closely with experienced trial lawyers, former government officials, and strategic advisors on cutting-edge competition law issues.

Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on a broad range of antitrust and competition law matters
  • Handle civil antitrust litigation and government investigations
  • Assist with:
    • Merger reviews and HSR filings
    • Transactional antitrust counseling
    • Merger compliance matters
    • Internal and government investigations
  • Draft court filings, motions, memoranda, and agency submissions
  • Participate in all phases of litigation, including:
    • Taking and defending depositions
    • Managing discovery
    • Conducting legal research
    • Assisting with trial preparation
  • Advise clients on business strategies and antitrust risk management
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across litigation, regulatory, and transactional practices
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
  • 3–5 years of relevant antitrust experience
  • Experience in:
    • Civil litigation
    • Antitrust investigations
    • Mergers and acquisitions
    • HSR compliance
    • Transactional antitrust counseling
  • Prior experience at a leading law firm or relevant government agency preferred
  • Outstanding analytical, drafting, and oral advocacy skills

  • Admission to the applicable state bar or eligibility to waive in
