Job description

Key Responsibilities
Product & Operational Alignment
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on fixed annuity products, including MYGAs, FIAs, and income riders (e.g., GLWB), with a strong understanding of how product design impacts administration, servicing, and policyholder behavior
  • Partner closely with Product, Actuarial, and Distribution teams to ensure seamless implementation and administration of new and existing products
  • Translate complex product features (crediting strategies, caps/floors, surrender schedules, riders) into clear, efficient operational processes

Service & Experience Differentiation
  • Define and execute a vision for how annuity operations can differentiate the business through service, not just efficiency
  • Identify and implement tangible improvements in:
    • Policy issuance timelines
    • Not-in-good-order (NIGO) reduction
    • Policyholder servicing experience
    • Advisor and distributor support
  • Drive initiatives that enhance ease of doing business for both internal stakeholders and external partners

Operational Leadership & Transformation
  • Lead day-to-day annuity operations across onboarding, policy administration, servicing, and claims
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate processes, and improve scalability
  • Partner with Technology and third-party administrators to enhance platforms, tools, and data capabilities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processing efficiency, accuracy, and risk management

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a key liaison between Operations, Product, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and IT to ensure alignment across the annuity lifecycle
  • Support new product launches by ensuring operational readiness, including system configuration, workflows, and servicing models
  • Provide input into product design discussions from an operational feasibility and service perspective

Strategy & Growth Enablement
  • Support broader business strategy by ensuring operations can scale alongside growth in annuity volumes
  • Contribute to decisions around vendor strategy, platform selection, and operational model design
  • Use data and KPIs to drive decision-making and measure success across operational performance and client experience

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in life insurance / annuities, with significant exposure to annuity operations and/or product
  • Strong understanding of fixed annuity products, including MYGA, FIA, and associated riders, and how they function operationally
  • Demonstrated ability to connect product design with operational execution and client experience
  • Experience leading teams and driving process improvement or transformation initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across actuarial, product, and business leadership
