Job description

Position Summary


Red Cat Holdings is currently in growth mode and is seeking a Customer Facing Program Manager (PM) for the execution of its uncrewed systems business secured with customers within the Asia-Pacific region. Our Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) compliant products are used within both military and civilian / commercial markets and include Group 1 Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), First Person View (FPV) UAS as well as Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USV). Contracts and related programs managed can range in value from $100K to $50M+, and the position will frequently be managing multiple programs concurrently. 

You will be responsible for the successful execution of complex customer programs, overseeing cost, schedule, and technical performance across the full program lifecycle. You will work cross-functionally with, while acting as the primary interface to external customers, resellers, US Government (GOV) and international Gov customers. This role serves as the central point of accountability for program delivery and customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead end-to-end execution of customer programs, ensuring alignment with cost, schedule, and performance objectives
  • Working with Contracts, Legal, Export Compliance, Engineering, Production, and corporate leadership as required to meet all contractual schedule and quality requirements while adhering to export compliance constraints, with regular written status reporting
  • Managing the successful delivery of unmanned systems hardware, data, and services against orders secured
  • Irreproachable integrity; demonstrates initiative, accountability, and sound judgment
  • Demonstrate proven experience and skills in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines
  • Demonstrate proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding yourself and others accountable, and conducting quarterly reviews
  • You will be crucial in business resource planning/tracking in coordination with other corporate entities (engineering, operations, finance, shipping, compliance, business operations and business development teams) and responsible to form a team that can fulfill program requirements
  • You will be the driver in ensuring program issues are identified, tracked, and resolved to achieve the success of the program
  • You will be responsible for conducting routine meetings, researching/fact-finding and negotiating/interacting with product/program stakeholders
  • Working with Business Development (BD) and their regional Sales Representative / Reseller network to facilitate the establishment and execution of Co-Manufacturing enterprises in major countries of opportunity
  • Supporting BD in their capture of new business, in the form of pricing & proposal support efforts, leadership for flight demonstrations at or near the factory, and the support of BD-led customer meetings at the factory, customer locations, or at tradeshows
  • Establish and manage program controls, metrics, and success criteria
  • Identify, assess, mitigate and report program-level risks and issues
  • Lead program reviews and execution meetings with customers and executive leadership
  • Manage scope changes and communicate impacts to internal leadership and customers
  • Monitor and analyze data across programs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish and communicate program priorities across cross-functional teams
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, processes, and compliance requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of relevant Project Management experience in aerospace / defense companies with hardware products
  • International PM experience in aerospace / defense
  • Knowledge of export processes and end-user certificate requirements
  • Willing to take calculated risks and lead through ambiguity
  • Collaborative, results-driven, and proactive
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth organizations
  • Relevant experience working in support of, and in creating Statement of Work, Work Breakdown Structure products and Gantt charts
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of US and international (APAC) Government procurement processes and Prime contractor relationships
  • Proficiency in program management methods, tools, and best practices
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and government/commercial customers
  • Self-starter: already knows what needs to be done and will work with the team to figure out how best to do it given priorities, goals and constraints
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%; some international travel is required (10% - 25%), typically not longer than 1 week at a time
  • Primary work location is Teal Drones, at their Salt Lake City, Utah facility; hybrid work negotiable
  • Active U.S. Passport is required
  • Cleared / clearable to US Department of War SECRET
  • This role requires access to controlled technical data subject to ITAR and EAR regulations. Applicants must be eligible to access such data without the need for export authorization. Eligible individuals include U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and those granted protected status under U.S. law.

Additional Desired Qualifications


  • Semi-fluent in at least one regional language (Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Thai, Malay, Tagalong, Vietnamese, Khmer, Indonesian, Malay)
  • Familiarity with APAC regional cultural norms through prior international work / travel, or through other life experience
  • Experience working with U.S. and International Government agencies
  • Understanding of US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and related organizations
  • Opportunity Capture Management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics customer relationship management tool
  • Experience interacting with product development teams

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.
