Job Title:Graduate Medical Education Data SpecialistDepartment:Medicine | College Administration

The GME Data Analyst is housed within the Office of Graduate Medical Education (GME) and reports to GME leadership (Quality, Finance, or Learner Development). This role collaborates with institutional leaders across Quality, Safety, Finance, and Education to support improvement strategies for over 150 residency and fellowship programs across 25 clinical departments.

The GME Data Analyst leverages data and analytic tools to monitor program effectiveness at both institutional and program levels, using insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement and sustain outcomes. The Data Specialist produces routine and ad hoc reports, prepares datasets for review, and supports leadership with actionable insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

~ Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting

  • Collaborate and partner with institutional data teams on dashboards and recurring reports to track key GME metrics, ensure data integrity, compliance, and appropriate system use
  • Input, validate, and audit data across databases, spreadsheets, and specialized systems
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies, missing data, and data quality issues
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information

~ Program Development & Implementation

Monitors program implementation to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional priorities

  • Maintains data systems for tracking participation, outcomes, and feedback
  • Supports and leads program evaluation efforts using data-driven continuous improvement methods
  • Coordinates logistics for GME workshops, training sessions, and longitudinal programs
  • Uses Workday reporting metrics to develop and distribute funding letters for program directors
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for GME's procurement and travel processes, coordinating closely with service centers and internal partners to ensure all transactions are processed in a timely and compliant manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in administrative support, data management, or healthcare education environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and database tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and data accuracy
  • Experience with data validation, quality assurance, and reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Experience in a Graduate Medical Education (GME) office or academic medical center
  • Familiarity with GME management systems (e.g., New Innovations, MedHub)
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., ACGME requirements)
