Position Overview:

The BI Analytics Engineer sits at the intersection of data and the business - translating the organization's data into a strategic asset by ensuring that the right information is structured, reliable, and accessible so that leaders can make confident, insight-driven decisions. This role partners closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and senior leadership to define enterprise metrics, establish reporting standards, and develop scalable data models that enable consistent measurement across the organization. The BI Analytics Engineer is a champion of data literacy across the organization, enabling leaders at all levels to make confident, data-informed decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

Data Modeling

  • Partner with technical teams to define how data should be structured, interpreted, and modeled by translating business needs into data standards that drive consistency and confidence across reporting.
  • Transform and organize warehouse data into clean, well-documented business-facing models optimized for reporting and self-service analytics.
  • Define, document, and standardize enterprise metrics and KPI calculations to ensure consistency across reports and dashboards.
  • Develop predictive models and trend analyses to surface risks, opportunities, and forward-looking insights for business stakeholders.

Reporting Solutions

  • Build, publish, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that track KPIs and operational performance for business stakeholders.
  • Develop and automate recurring reports and ad hoc analyses that reduce manual work and improve reporting consistency across the organization.
  • Own and maintain the enterprise reporting roadmap by evaluating incoming requests, scoping efforts, and aligning priorities with business leadership.
  • Ensure reporting solutions are scalable, intuitive, and aligned to evolving business needs.
  • Monitor reporting performance to drive continuous improvement in reporting effectiveness.

Business Partnership

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Marketing, and senior leaders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements aligned to strategic and financial objectives.
  • Serve as a bridge between the IT/Data Engineering team, Business Intelligence & Data Analytics team, and business users - translating technical data structures into business-friendly reporting layers.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable reporting frameworks and analytical solutions that support strategic and financial planning.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify gaps in reporting, measurement, and data accessibility, recommending solutions that improve decision-making capabilities.
  • Champion data literacy by creating self-service tools, documentation, and training resources that empower leaders to explore data independently.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Builds trusted relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Communicates complex technical and analytical concepts in a clear, actionable manner for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Takes responsibility for delivering accurate, reliable, and impactful data products that support organizational decision-making.
  • Connects data and reporting solutions to broader business objectives and performance outcomes.
  • Anticipates future reporting and measurement needs, proactively recommending scalable solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 3-5 years' experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a related analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, visualizations, and semantic layer development.
  • Demonstrated ability to define KPIs and build reporting frameworks in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Natural curiosity, attention to detail, and a passion for turning data into meaningful insights

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting restaurant (QSR), retail, hospitality, consumer, or multi-unit operating environments
  • Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and transforming data from cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or similar).

Compensation Range:

$64,946.00 - $108,243.00 per year

*Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations.
