Job Description Position background: o This position will be part of our Data Science Solutions and Strategy (DS3) Team within the United Healthcare Controllership. The role will be involved multiple technology projects throughout the year to help our organization ensure data quality while assisting with analysis, metric, and report creations. They will have the ability to research and apply various data mining and data science methods in these processes and will be a key resource for major project deliverables. What does this position accomplish for the business? o This position will support various Financial Data Management teams with data testing and data quality assessment. Please describe the team the candidate will be working with (number of team members break- down of the teams skill sets team culture etc.). o The DS3 team is approximately 35 members with the direct team being 5-7 individuals. The team is extremely skilled in various big data technologies (Hive, Hadoop, Teradata) and has a variety of programming skills (SAS, SQL, Python, R) etc. What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position (please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis)? o Assist various groups in the transition of Financial Systems data flows to various ETL or data warehouse platforms. o Create programs and automated processes for reporting and dashboarding on various data quality measures. o Research and development on various metrics and analytical methods to help with data quality, automated testing, and validation processes. o Develop sophisticated methods for anomaly detection, pattern analysis, change point detection, threshold measuring and other approaches for measure data changes. o Exploratory data analysis and research to determine data baselines and thresholds for summary analysis. What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background specific industry experience etc.)? o Healthcare data experience not required but helpful. o 4-year degree in Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science. o 4+ years of experience as a data analyst, data scientist or data engineer. What skills/attributes are required (please be detailed as to number of years of experience for each skill)? o Ability to build complex SQL queries o Ability to confidently communicate findings and help implement change o Professional experience with various data platforms like Microsoft SQL Server, SAS Fusion Hadoop, Teradata, Hive, AWS, Azure, etc.) o Professional experience with various data business intelligence software tools like Power BI, Tableau, iDashboards etc. What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)? o Aptitude for telling stories with data. o Experience with presenting to Senior Management or Executive Leadership. o SAS Certification, Teradata Vantage Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional o Advanced degree in Data Science or Analytics. o Experience with Github, Agile Methodology.
