Summary -
The Sr. Tax Analsyt will play a key role in supporting the Americas regional tax function of a Germany based organization. This position is primarily responsible for tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings and payments, and maintaining strong documentation that aligns with internal controls and external audit expectations. In addition to compliance duties, the Tax Accountant will assist with tax provision support, tax technology improvements, process optimization, audits, and various cross-functional projects, as needed. This position works closely with other accounting and business unit employees, internal departments, and external parties.
Responsibilities -
  • Assist in the preparation of annual property tax filings, sales/use tax, Canadian GST/QST, etc. Assist in maintaining Vertex (Customer records).
  • Assist in the preparation of the US federal, state, and local income tax returns, including supporting workpapers and disclosures.
  • Support income tax provision processes, including data gathering, variance analysis, and preparation of tax account roll forwards.
  • Responsible for the tax basis of fixed asset records for all Voith North American companies. This includes the review for accuracy of all annual additions, and the verification and oversight of all depreciation calculations that affect tax computations.
  • Research and analyze tax issues to support compliance and strategic decision-making. Monitor emerging tax legislation to support compliance and business decisions.
  • Contribute to estimated tax payments and cash tax analysis.
  • Participate in tax technology and process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, accuracy, and automation supporting organizational growth.
  • Assist the Tax Director and/or Tax Manager from time to time on special projects or requests.
  • Promote a collaborative team culture through professionalism, open communication, and shared goals.

  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
