Job Description

Leads manufacturing engineering projects that improve safety, productivity, and process performance. This role is responsible for both enhancing existing equipment and production processes and introducing new machinery or technologies when needed. A key responsibility is identifying and resolving production bottlenecks through engineering-driven process and design improvements.

Shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Support production through the development, design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing tooling, processes, and equipment.
  • Lead and coordinate manufacturing engineering projects, including initiating, investigating, developing, designing, and executing solutions through cross-functional teams.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support for manufacturing and capital projects. · Maintain accurate project documentation and technical records using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (B. S.) from four-year College or university.

Three to five years’ related engineering and project management experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend common scientific and technical journals, including mechanical drawings and schematics related to complex mechanical systems. Ability to effectively present information to both top management and the hourly supervisor.

Ability to identify and solve technical and operational problems by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating alternatives, and making sound decisions. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, diagrams, and mathematical data to support manufacturing processes and projects.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems. Working knowledge of CAD software is required, with experience creating and modifying engineering drawings and models in Autodesk Inventor preferred.

Minimal travel may be required for certain projects and training. Continuing education classes for improvement of computer skills. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in an office setting and has plant exposure on occasion. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and may involve exposure to moderate noise levels from high-speed printers and other peripherals. When working in the plant, this position

may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics.

While performing the duties of this job in an office setting, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; however, it may involve walking and standing for brief periods of time.  While performing the duties of this job in the plant, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
