Job description

General Purpose: Play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing cloud and on-prem based enterprise data center solutions. Provides central accountability for all Infrastructure server services which include those activities associated with the function, organization, expansion and technical support of existing and future Windows and Linux-based physical and virtual system configurations and supporting systems software (e.g., operating systems, utilities, databases, cloud services and middleware) necessary to deliver the required services (e.g. hosting, web, messaging, remote access, security administration, virtual desktop services) to support Edfinancial Services, Edamerica, and Medfinancial systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with development, operations and security teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of our cloud infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud based cloud solutions.
• Manage Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud based resources including virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking components.
• Monitor and optimize Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud based services for performance, availability, and cost-efficiency.
• Lead and provide documentation and guidance on planning, designing, and implementing Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud based services.
• Provide recommendations and documentation on new and existing company system standards.
• Manage and monitor M365 environment including mail flow and collaboration products such as email, SharePoint, Dynamics, Teams, and licensing.
• Maintain Active Directory and Entra ID environments including DHCP, GPO, DNS, and certificate management.
• Monitor services for growth and usage trends. Perform long-term capacity planning in conjunction with other team members that would determine both hardware and software purchases.
• Perform daily system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of servers, applications, and services.
• Review system and application logs and ensure completion of scheduled jobs (e.g., backups, sFTP).
• Recommend, install, test, and manage servers and software in accordance with standards and operational requirements.
• Ensure data integrity through regular backups, recovery procedures, and verification of access rights.
• Securely manage and maintain elevated access rights including Domain Controller, root, and Global Administrator roles.
• Provide technical assistance to users and desktop support staff.
• Diagnosing and resolving escalated hardware, software, and operational issues.
• Collaborate with Network staff to ensure integration of web services and network components.
• Perform reviews of other technical personnel work and provide recommendations to leadership on training needs.
• Train selected staff for coverage during absences.
• Evaluate and participate in the selection of new vendors and ongoing performance monitoring of existing vendors.
• Liaise with external vendors and consultants to support infrastructure needs.
• Participate in Medfinancial administrative functions as needed.
• Participate in off-hour support rotation.
• Collaborate with Security team and other IT staff as necessary to implement, update and test ongoing security improvements including regular and timely operating system patches, security patches and other application updates as necessary to all server infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other staff to create, test, and keep up to date disaster recovery procedures for all services deemed necessary.
• Collaborate with Network staff to install, configure, and generally ensure the tight integration of web services, network links, hardware, and peripheral components into the company managed environments.
• Stay up to date with the latest IT tools and best practices.
• Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline plus 8+ years' work experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
• Excellent oral, grammatical, written, and multi-tasking skills.
• Broad base of knowledge and skills in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux server infrastructure, Entra ID, network topology, and server operating systems.
