Job description

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a System Administrator II to join our team!
Specifically, we are looking for a System Administrator with Linux command-line administration experience, familiarity with Yum or equivalent patching repositories, and experience working within a cloud environment, as well as related technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • 10 years' experience as a SA in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
    • 5 years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Duties and Reponsibilities:
  • Create, and maintain RedHat Linux virtual machines running in a cloud infrastructure (Amazon AWS)
  • Evaluate systems for IAVA compliance and applies necessary security updates/patches
  • Perform command line system administration tasks on virtual machines
  • Handle regular system backups and periodically tests backups for functionality
  • Communicate with developers and DevOps team members to provide system administration support
  • Apply patches and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot server issues
  • Administer customer accounts
  • Deploy monitoring tools
  • Deploy applications and tools
  • Assist with escalated customer tickets
  • Installation and cabling of equipment
Required:
  • Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
  • Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository
  • Experience working within a cloud environment a plus (Amazon AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud infrastructure with virtual machines)
  • Experience or knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool a plus

Desired:
  • Knowledge of software deployed on systems a plus but not required (Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Nifi)
  • Syslog/NxLog
  • Nagios or other similar monitoring applications
  • Scripting experience (Python/Perl)
