Job description

The Senior HR Operations Partner - Customer Background Checks & Badging (Amazon) is responsible for the end-to-end execution of customer background check and badging requirements for Dematic employees supporting Amazon sites. This role sits within HR Operations and exists due to sustained volume growth, external customer compliance requirements, and the need for dedicated ownership to reduce operational risk and escalation load. The role serves as the primary HR Operations point of accountability for Amazon customer background checks, employee consent processing, badge access data coordination, status tracking, and issue resolution. Success in this role is measured by improved process stability, reduced rework, and decreased escalation volume across Amazon background checks and badging. The process environment is complex, evolving, and fast-paced, requiring curiosity and initiative to identify gaps, manage stakeholders effectively, reduce rework, and drive practical improvements. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required or necessary to support broader HR Operations execution and priorities.
We offer:
  • Career Development
  • Competitive Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Transparency
  • Global Opportunities

Dematic provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $57,200-$78,650 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will do in This Role:
Customer Background Checks & Compliance Execution
  • Own the end-to-end processing of Amazon customer background checks for Dematic employees, including initiation, monitoring, status updates, and completion.
  • Manage employee consent processes related to badge access, including secure handling and release of PII for Dematic employees in accordance with documented procedures.
  • For temporary (contingent) workers performing work on behalf of Dematic and paid by a third-party agency, support the secure transfer of required PII to Amazon, in alignment with established HR Operations data governance standards. (This role does not own or administer contingent worker consent or broader contingent workforce management.)
  • Ensure background checks are completed prior to data release and badge access and escalate risks that may impact start dates or site access.
  • If and/or when Amazon onboarding system access is granted, perform required system entry to support employee onboarding and badge activation, in alignment with approved processes, access controls, and compliance requirements.

Operational Ownership & Coordination
  • Serve as the primary HR Operations contact for Amazon background check and badging activity.
  • Coordinate closely with HRBPs, PPOCs/BPOCs, Amazon customer contact(s), and Legal or Compliance partners as required.
  • Maintain accurate trackers, documentation, and reporting for background check and badge access activity.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including written status updates, issue escalation, expectation-setting, and verbal coordination on complex or time-sensitive matters.

Process Communication & Training
  • Create a process for the collection and transfer of contract/temporary PPI data to Amazon.
  • Present process updates, changes, and training to large groups of Project Managers and related senior stakeholders, including audiences of 80+ participants.
  • Translate complex, compliance-driven processes into clear, practical guidance that drives consistent adoption and reduces rework.
  • Deliver live presentations, facilitate Q&A, and provide follow-up materials to reinforce understanding and correct execution.

Escalation & Risk Management
  • Act as the primary escalation point within HR Operations for Amazon-related background check and consent issues.
  • Identify trends, rework drivers, and systemic risks related to volume, data quality, or timing and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Support resolution of complex or time-sensitive cases in partnership with HRBPs and Legal.
  • Proactively investigate process breakdowns, unclear handoffs, and recurring defects; implement fixes that simplify the experience for PPOCs/PMs and reduce escalation load.

Process Discipline & Improvement
  • Execute work in alignment with approved job aids, templates, and process maps.
  • Contribute to process improvements that reduce rework, improve cycle time, and stabilize service delivery as volume scales. Process improvements in this role are focused on practical execution, clarity of ownership, and sustainable workflows rather than continuous redesign.
  • Support updates to documentation and training materials as processes evolve.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred and/or 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, compliance processing, or customer-facing HR execution.
  • Demonstrated experience managing background checks, consent, or sensitive employee data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume, deadline-sensitive work and competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating across HR, business stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Experience with HR systems and tracking tools (Workday, vendor platforms, Excel-based trackers).
  • Strong professional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience delivering clear, confident communication to large audiences and senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and initiative, with examples of identifying gaps and driving process improvements in evolving operational environments.
