Job description

Amazon's Global Corporate Procurement organization is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management leader. This role will serve as the procurement lead, partnering with our Business Development teams to structure and execute complex, strategic deals where Amazon's customers are also vendors and/or partners across Amazon business units, including Amazon Web Services (AWS). This position requires strong procurement expertise, vendor management skills, business acumen, and strategic thinking to optimize value across Amazon relationships. This includes managing relationships and negotiations that require a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications to AWS and other Amazon business units.
This role will be focused on vendors and deals with high visibility at the most senior levels of AWS and Amazon. In this role, you will be responsible for balancing fiduciary responsibility for the procurement in the context of competing priorities.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives for complex deals that intersect with Amazon's strategic customer relationships across all business units
- Collaborate with Business Development teams to develop and execute negotiation strategies that optimize total value across the holistic customer and vendor relationship.
- Structure deals that enable Amazon's global spend while growing the overall customer and vendor relationship.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Tax, and Business stakeholders to execute procurement agreements
- Develop and implement vendor management strategies for key strategic suppliers, including performance metrics, governance models, and relationship management plans
- Lead regular business reviews with strategic vendors, addressing performance issues, identifying improvement opportunities, and aligning on long-term objectives
- Provide procurement and vendor management expertise to support business decisions regarding strategic partner relationships
- Develop strong working relationships across Amazon business units, Business Development teams, and other key stakeholder groups
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation
- Experience managing spend categories that include three or more of the following: IT Software, IT Services, Corporate Services, Marketing, Contingent labor, Facilities and Real estate, Capital Expenditure and Tail Spend (Indirect Categories)
- Experience with practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.)
- 5+ years of work in a procurement organization, performing vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of cloud services procurement and contracting models

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
