Industrial Design & Packaging Innovation Senior Manager


Packaging Innovation Lab (PIL) PepsiCo
Plano, TX (Onsite, 40 hrs/week)


About the Role

WovenWorks is seeking a Industrial Design & Packaging Innovation Senior Manager to lead the Packaging Innovation Lab (PIL) at PepsiCos R&D Center in Plano, TX. The PIL is a cutting-edge prototyping facility that brings packaging innovation to life, leveraging advanced 2D/3D printing and rapid prototyping to deliver new-to-world concepts for PepsiCos brands.

In this role, youll lead onsite operations, manage a high-performing team, and partner closely with PepsiCo stakeholders to deliver high-quality packaging innovation at speed and scale.

What Youll Do

Lead the Lab & Team

  • Manage and develop a team of 4 onsite designers/prototyping specialists
  • Set the standard for quality, pace, and collaboration
  • Ensure compliance with safety (EHS) and onsite policies

Drive Operations & Delivery

  • Oversee intake, prioritisation, and execution of all projects
  • Manage multiple fast-moving workstreams and shifting priorities
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery against tight timelines

Partner with PepsiCo Stakeholders

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client lead
  • Align on project scope, timing, and expectations
  • Communicate proactively, including managing pushback when needed

Oversee Prototyping & Lab Capabilities

  • Manage equipment, materials, and vendors
  • Ensure maintenance, calibration, and operational readiness
  • Recommend new tools and technologies to expand capabilities

Lead Innovation & Engagement

  • Facilitate ideation, co-creation, and innovation sessions
  • Act as a visible ambassador for the PIL (tours, presentations)
  • Help teams navigate ambiguity and early-stage concepting

Ensure Continuity

  • Coordinate with broader WovenWorks teams for backup support
  • Maintain seamless delivery during resource gaps


What Were Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in industrial design
  • 8+ years of experience in packaging
  • Strong background in structural packaging (CPG experience preferred)
  • Advanced SolidWorks (surface + solid modeling)
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping (2D/3D) tools and equipment
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex workflows
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous innovation environments


Nice to Have

  • Degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with Monday, Adobe Creative Suite, and KeyShot
  • Knowledge of materials across additive and moulding processes
  • Experience across the full product development lifecycle
