Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred. Experience working with out-of-school (OST) programs such as 21st CCLC Programs, after school initiatives or youth development grants is highly preferred.
Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama's College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire a Manager, Subgrantee Support - 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC). Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
  • Provides ongoing support and assistance to current and prospective 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) subgrantees, Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) representatives, Technical Assistants (TAs), and coaches.
  • Aids the ALSDE in building the capacity of subgrantee staff to implement high-quality, compliant, and successful out-of-school-time programs aligned to federal and state priorities and guidelines outlined in ESEA, as amended by ESSA.
  • Trains and supervises Regional Program Specialists that assist and support 21st CCLC subgrantees across the state.
  • Works collaboratively with ALSDE representatives to ensure each Regional Program Specialist delivers direct, consistent, and timely support to subgrantees following
  • ALSDE-established coaching guidelines to ensure subgrantee/ 21st CCLC site success.
  • Responsible for developing, managing, and providing timely updates to the Alabama 21st CCLC state website (all of which must be approved by the ALSDE), which will provide general 21st CCLC grant information, 21st CCLC competition information, subgrantee forms and resources, external evaluator forms and resources, training resources and videos, a calendar of events and important dates, program spotlights, a prescreened list of external organizations, and other grant information as needed and/or requested by the ALSDE.
  • Translates complex state/federal grant language into actionable, easy-to-understand guidance for diverse subgrantee teams, program directors and instructional coaches.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
