JOB TITLE: Expansion Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Expansion
REPORTS TO: Audrey Sepetjian, Director of Expansion
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, 20 Hours/Week
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
MISSION ALIGNMENT
Alpha USA exists to equip and serve the Church in its mission to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. Every staff member at Alpha plays a critical role in advancing this mission, contributing to a culture of prayer, hospitality, evangelism, and innovation.
PURPOSE OF ROLE, SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
The Expansion Coordinator partners closely with the Director of Expansion to grow, equip, and sustain Alpha USA's national network of volunteer leaders. This role supports the mobilization of Hub Directors, Coaches, and general volunteers by providing organizational support, training, and resources that empower them to share Alpha locally. This individual understands the strategic impact volunteers have in advancing Alpha's mission and proactively collaborates with internal teams to identify opportunities, strengthen engagement, and mobilize volunteers within their contexts
Essential Responsibilities and Functions:
  • Own the coordination and support of Hub and Coach events, ensuring leaders are
    equipped, registrations are aligned, and communication flows smoothly from launch to
    follow-up.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and strategic usability of Expansion data across platforms
    (e.g., Salesforce and Monday.com) in partnership with the Director of Expansion.
  • Cultivate a culture of appreciation, connection, and belonging among Hub and Coach
    leaders through intentional recognition and relational touchpoints.
  • Lead the identification, recruitment, and onboarding of new volunteer leaders, ensuring clarity of role, vision alignment, and strong launch support.
  • Provide relational and strategic support to current volunteers through regular
    communication, prayer, problem-solving, and encouragement in their Alpha efforts.
  • Oversee engagement touchpoints when a Hub Church launches a new Alpha course,
    ensuring leaders feel supported and equipped at key milestones.
  • Provide leadership support in volunteer coordination for Alpha Conference and other key Expansion gatherings.
  • Partner with the Expansion team to execute training, events, and strategic initiatives that
    advance national growth goals.
  • Maintain clear, timely, and pastoral communication through shared volunteer channels,
    ensuring inquiries and needs are addressed effectively.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
  • 3-5 Years of Experience with Alpha (on staff or as volunteer)
  • Has Alpha experience and/or story to build credibility with staff, church leaders and churches.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and team building skills
  • Experience leading a department and managing teams and people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Program & project management skills
  • Strong computer skills and is proficient with technology including social media
