Job description

South Valley Almond Company is seeking an Electronics Processing Specialist to join our almond processing plant team!
Summary:
The Electronics Specialist is responsible for keeping electronic sorting machines running smoothly and efficiently. This role monitors performance, trains operators, and identifies ways to improve production using simple data and problem-solving methods. The position works closely with supervisors and teams to meet quality and production goals while ensuring safety and food safety standards are followed.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure electronic equipment operates efficiently to meet production and quality standards.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify and implement process improvements using Lean and continuous improvement methods.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and process enhancements.
  • Train, coach, and support operators and team leads on equipment operation and best practices.
  • Provide direction to teams to ensure performance, quality, and productivity targets are met.
  • Optimize staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards; support audits and incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate performance updates, while staying current on industry trends and innovations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience operating or supporting industrial or automated equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, and support employees.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and operational standards.
  • Ability to work flexible and rotating schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods.
  • Bilingual (e.g., English/Spanish).

Working conditions:
  • Regular lifting up to ~50 lbs; prolonged standing and walking; frequent hand use to operate machinery and controls; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling; good vision and communication for safety and quality; sustained physical work.
  • Industrial processing or plant environment; machinery and conveyors; dust, fumes, chemicals; wet or slippery surfaces; temperature fluctuations; loud noise requiring hearing protection; shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays; PPE mandatory.
