Job Description
Allstate is looking for an experienced leader that accelerates Allstate's move into the public cloud. The position is with the Allstate Cloud Engineering group. Cloud Engineering is responsible for making the cloud seamless and secure at Allstate and Allstate's Family of Companies.
The Azure Cloud Infrastructure Managing Engineer leads a group of engineers as they build, automate and secure Azure Cloud services. The team consists of talented individuals that are passionate about technology and work collaboratively on achieving Allstate's goals. Engineers follow an XP Type mindset, actively pairing throughout the day and across time zones. The Azure Cloud Infrastructure Managing Engineer works closely with the product managers and engineers to remove obstacles and help the team be as productive as possible.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineers in overseeing and developing cloud environments and platforms, while aligning them with business and security strategies and requirements
  • Work closely with product managers to prioritize the backlog and collaborate on Infrastructure roadmaps
  • Champion the engineering practices and help teams define and setup frameworks for infrastructure as code and immutable infrastructure concepts
  • Establish the strategy and manage complex technical designs in engineering and operating cloud platform infrastructure
  • Define and develop new products and services that provides functions- "as-a-service"
  • Champion for the appropriate use of open source and commercial technology based upon industry trends and innovative concepts
  • Identify creative solutions for technical challenges

Key Qualifications & Technical Skills
  • 5+ years of application development and infrastructure engineering experience
  • Extensive experience leading engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, facilitating one-on-one coaching sessions, and managing HR-related duties to support team development and organizational alignment
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing complex applications and distributed systems into Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with and solid understanding of complex, multi-region, highly available state-less and state-full deployments
  • Solid understanding of security and compliance frameworks, standards and implementation in public cloud environments
  • Experience with and solid understanding of infrastructure technologies such as network, compute, and storage
  • Experience in infrastructure as code using Terraform, and ARM Templates
  • Adept at mentoring different teams across the various engineering practices including extreme programming, product mindset, cloud/as-a-service approach, and infrastructure as code
  • Hands-on style - willingness and competence in producing necessary changes in our infrastructure and processes
  • Able to facilitate diverse teams, time zones, multi-task, and work under pressure to meet aggressive schedule targets
  • Sound ability to communicate and present ideas and solutions effectively across groups of diverse backgrounds
  • Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305) Certification

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 120,000.00 - 193,725.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
