About the role.
The Agronomy & Sustainability Data Analyst plays a critical role in advancing McCain's data and analytics strategy across North American agronomy and sustainability initiatives. Supporting over 300 potato growers across multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces, this role is responsible for transforming complex agricultural and operational data into actionable insights that drive yield, quality, carbon reduction, and regenerative agriculture outcomes.
This position combines strong technical data expertise with applied agronomic understanding, focusing on standardizing and accelerating data collection, analytics, and insight delivery. The role reports to the Director of Agronomy and offers flexibility to be based at any of our plant locations or corporate offices within North America.
What you'll be doing.
  • Lead the development and execution of a robust agronomy and sustainability analytics strategy
  • Design and deliver analytics that inform agronomic decisions, grower practices, and internal business planning
  • Standardize and enhance data collection, management, validation, and governance processes
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and modern data environments (e.g., cloud platforms, APIs)
  • Analyze agricultural, supply chain, and operational datasets to uncover actionable insights
  • Apply predictive, prescriptive, and AI-driven analytics to improve decision-making and efficiency
  • Integrate multiple data sources, including precision agriculture tools (e.g., remote sensing, field sensors), into cohesive analytical outputs
  • Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, practical insights for agronomy, field, and business stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive adoption of data tools, analytics, and AI-enabled workflows

What you'll need to be successful.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in data analytics, statistics, computer science, agriculture, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering advanced analytics solutions in agriculture, supply chain, or a similar operational environment
  • Proven ability to lead projects that combine business process transformation with advanced analytics
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience working with modern data ecosystems, including cloud-based platforms, APIs, and automated pipelines
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality standards, and validation practices
  • Experience applying AI, predictive modeling, or advanced analytics techniques to business problems
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture data sources (e.g., remote sensing, IoT sensors, field systems)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required

The North American Agronomy & Sustainability Team supports a network of 300+ growers across 7 U.S. states and Canadian provinces. The team focuses on research, field and storage extension, and sustainability initiatives that drive yield improvement, quality enhancement, carbon reduction, and regenerative agriculture expansion. This role serves as the analytics leader within the team, enabling data-driven decision-making and advancing digital and AI capabilities.

Compensation Package : $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 . USD annually + Bonus eligibility
