Job description

Lead and shape Guthrie's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program at Robert Packer Hospital.
Guthrie is seeking an accomplished, collaborative Plastic Surgeon to serve as Chief of Plastic Surgery at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. This is a physician leadership opportunity for a surgeon who wants a meaningful clinical practice combined with responsibility for program direction, team development, quality, and growth.
Highlights of the Position
  • Provide clinical, strategic, and operational leadership for Plastic Surgery at Robert Packer Hospital.
  • Lead an established Sayre Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery clinic with seven providers, including plastic surgeons and advanced practice support.
  • Guide a service line that spans cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, facial reconstruction, body contouring, burn surgery, and complex wound care.
  • Collaborate with Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Dermatology, Trauma, Wound Care, and hospital leadership to strengthen coordinated patient care.
  • Support and grow Guthrie's role in multidisciplinary cancer care, including collaboration with breast care and reconstructive services.
  • Partner with leadership on physician recruitment, access, quality improvement, operational standardization, and program expansion.
Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Plastic Surgery.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Pennsylvania; New York eligibility is preferred given Guthrie's regional footprint.
  • Prior leadership, service-line development, or physician management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and to balance clinical excellence with operational stewardship.
