Job Description
Alabama State University, Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, invites application for a 12-month Biology Laboratory Curator position. The successful applicant will teach biology lecture and laboratory courses. In addition, the Biology Laboratory Curator will also be responsible to setting up the labs, making inventory of the laboratory items and conducting any assignments given by the immediate supervisor. This position reports to the director of the Freshmen Biology Program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Teach Biology Laboratory course at 100/200 Level
  • Setup and organize labs for students, teaching, and demonstrations
  • Make inventory of supplies
  • Work with instructors, freshmen biology director, and department chairs in a collaboratively effort
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Biological Sciences is required. Prior teaching experience in biology and managing biology laboratories at the high school or college level is desired.
FACULTY STATEMENT:
It is to be noted that for the purpose of continuous improvement of faculty qualifications as faculty members complete advanced degrees, certifications, licenses, etc., the faculty member will send official documentation, within 45 days of hire, to the Office of Human Resources, and the credentialing file in Academic Affairs.
