Job description

Aita Restaurant is hiring an Assistant Manager

Aita is looking for a strong, organized, hospitality-driven Assistant Manager to join our team in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.

We’re looking for someone who can lead service from the floor, support staff accountability, help manage reservations and guest communication, and contribute to the daily organization of the restaurant. This is a hands-on management role for someone who communicates well with both guests and staff, enjoys service, and understands how to keep a busy dining room running smoothly while maintaining standards.

This is not just a floor presence role. We are looking for someone who can also assist with scheduling, staff communication, guest relations, and general operational follow-through while working closely with ownership and senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise floor service during dinner service and other operating shifts as needed

  • Help manage dining room flow, service standards, and guest experience

  • Support FOH scheduling, shift coverage, floor communication, and daily organization

  • Help maintain consistency in side work, opening/closing procedures, and service expectations

  • Hold staff accountable to service standards, communication, and day-to-day responsibilities

  • Handle guest relations, special requests, and service recovery when needed

  • Assist with reservations, daily administrative tasks, and operational follow-through

  • Work closely with ownership and management to keep the restaurant organized, efficient, and guest-focused

Ideal candidate

  • Has prior restaurant management or floor management experience in New York City

  • Is strong on the floor and comfortable leading service

  • Is organized, reliable, calm under pressure, and detail-oriented

  • Communicates well with staff and guests

  • Understands hospitality, service standards, and the pace of a busy independent restaurant

  • Is comfortable with reservation systems, POS systems, scheduling, and general FOH administration

  • Holds a valid NYC Food Protection Certificate, or is willing to obtain one promptly after hire

  • Wants to be part of a restaurant that is actively refining systems, standards, and operations

Position details

  • Evening and weekend availability required

  • Compensation: $1,250–$1,350/week depending on experience
