Position Overview

The Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) Technician is responsible for maintaining AGV system in running condition, first level of troubleshooting, and reporting of AGV systems issues within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures reliable operation of AGVs used for material handling, supports system upgrades, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to maximize uptime and efficiency by highlighting potential for improvement and daily issues faced by the system.

AGV Systems includes AGVs, Charging stations, 3-axis, Fleet Manager, Warehouse Management Systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor AGV system performance and respond promptly to downtime events.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve AGV system issues when no disassembling of equipment is necessary.
  • Perform first level preventive maintenance on AGVs, charging systems, guidance systems, and related infrastructure such as performing visual checks and cleaning equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, lockout/tagout, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain AGV operation area clean and tidy ( AGV Tech Desk area, warehouse area)
  • Log and maintain detailed and accurate maintenance work orders, and issues reports.
  • Implement and maintain visual management in automated warehouse areas.
  • Collaborate with digital and AGV engineers, automation engineers, IT, and operations teams to optimize AGV performance.
  • Assist in installation, commissioning, and integration of new AGVs or software updates.
  • Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency of AGV operations.
  • Provide training and technical support to operators and maintenance team members as needed.
