CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Operator


We are hiring an experienced CNC Setup Operator for a precision machining facility specializing in aerospace and defense components. This is a hands-on role requiring strong setup and operation skills on both mill and lathe equipment.


What You'll Do:

  • Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes - primarily Mazak equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and technical data
  • Load, edit, and proof programs; hand-edit as needed to correct errors
  • Select and mount tooling, set speeds, feeds, and cutting depth
  • Inspect parts using micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges
  • Maintain SPC charts when required
  • Produce CNC programs in less complex situations using CAM software
  • Keep work area, machines, and tooling clean and properly maintained


What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum 4 years of CNC setup and operation experience
  • Mazak experience required
  • Proficiency on both mill and lathe
  • Ability to read blueprints and work from technical documentation
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments
  • CAM programming experience a plus
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing background a plus
  • Trade school or vocational training preferred
