Job description

Are you energized by building relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and driving growth in the construction materials industry? SRM Concrete is seeking a driven and dynamic Aggregates Sales Representative to join our team. In this high-impact, field-based role, you’ll leverage your competitive spirit and “hunter” mentality to expand our presence in the aggregates market. You’ll spend your days visiting quarries, plants, and active job sites, engaging with contractors, developers, and municipalities, and representing SRM at industry events. If you thrive in a mix of outdoor and office environments, enjoy frequent local travel, and are ready to help shape the future of construction, we want you on our team.

  • Drive new business development by leveraging industry relationships, prospecting, cold calling, and targeted outreach to secure new aggregates opportunities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer operations and project timelines to position SRM as the preferred supplier during early planning, bidding, and specification phases.
  • Manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation and qualification through pricing, negotiation, closing, order fulfillment, and post-sale follow-up.
  • Collaborate with plant operations and dispatch to ensure accurate scheduling, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build tailored sales strategies for contractors, developers, municipalities, and infrastructure clients based on specific aggregate material needs.
  • Maintain clear communication with company leadership regarding market conditions, pricing trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with Billing & Credit departments to ensure accurate invoicing and strong account management.
  • Support Operations, Quality Control, and Dispatch teams by proactively monitoring customer projects and addressing issues before they escalate.
  • Participate in networking events, industry associations, and local construction meetings to promote SRM’s aggregates division and expand market presence.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 5–10 years of experience in aggregates, construction materials, site work, or related industries preferred.
  • Experience in contractor estimating, project management, or materials procurement is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a self-motivated, results-driven approach.
  • Proven ability in cold calling, lead qualification, and developing new accounts.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to ask strategic questions to uncover customer needs and project requirements.
  • Working knowledge of aggregates products (base stone, riprap, sand, gravel, specialty materials) and their applications in construction and infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of the local market, contractor landscape, and competitive environment.
  • Ability to remain professional and solution-oriented in high-pressure situations.
  • Proactive daily planning and territory management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building ability, establishing trust and long-term partnerships with customers.
  • Commitment to becoming a knowledgeable aggregates consultant internally and externally.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems, pricing tools, and standard computer software.
