Job description

Company introduction:

Compass Pathways plc (Nasdaq: CMPS) is a biotechnology company dedicated to accelerating patient access to evidence-based innovation in mental health. The Company is headquartered in London, UK, with offices in New York City in the US. We focus on developing novel treatments that have the potential to improve the lives of those who are suffering with mental health conditions and who are not helped by current treatments.

We are pioneering a new paradigm for treating mental health conditions focused on rapid and durable responses through the development of our investigational COMP360 synthetic psilocybin treatment, potentially a first in class treatment. COMP360 has Breakthrough Therapy designation from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and has received Innovative Licensing and Access Pathway (ILAP) designation in the UK for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) due to the pressing unmet need in this area.

We are currently in phase 3 for TRD, have completed phase 2 studies for both post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and anorexia nervosa and are planning a further late-stage study in PTSD. We envision a world where mental health means not just the absence of illness but the ability to thrive. - Compass Pathways.

Job overview:

The Senior Manager, Data Operations & Governance will own the ingestion, integrity, and downstream usability of Compass Pathways' commercial data assets as we prepare for and execute launch. This role is the connective tissue between our external data partners and the analytics, forecasting, and field operations work that depends on compliant, clean, and well-modeled data. The ideal candidate is technically opinionated, collaborative, comfortable pushing back on vendors when data quality slips, and equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to build pipelines, model data, and stand-up governance practices. You'll be designing the systems and standards from the ground up, with the autonomy and ambiguity that comes with building early.

Location: Hybrid in our New York City office or remote on the East Coast in the United States.

Reports to: Associate Director, Commercial Analytics.

Roles and responsibilities
(Include but are not limited to):

  • Own intake and integration of commercial data sources, including specialty pharmacy, REMS, claims, and field/CRM data
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for data aggregators and external vendors. Hold partners accountable to SLAs and data quality standards; resolve issues when feeds break or quality slips
  • Design and maintain the data models, transformations, and consumption layers that downstream analytics, forecasting, and reporting depend on
  • Build and operate scalable, credential-safe data pipelines
  • Establish and enforce data governance practices: lineage, definitions, access controls, audit trails, and change management
  • Partner with Commercial Analytics, Forecasting, Field Operations, Market Access, and IT to ensure data products meet consumer needs and handoffs are clean
  • Support compliance with HIPAA, PDMA, aggregate spend, and other regulatory requirements
  • Support the build of a data function: documentation, runbooks, and monitoring that outlast any one person on the team

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field (Master's a plus, not required)
  • 6+ years of experience in data operations, analytics engineering, or commercial data management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare with at least 2 years in a senior individual contributor or lead role
  • Hands-on experience with specialty pharmacy data strongly preferred; adjacent specialty data experience (claims, LDD, hub, REMS) also considered
  • Working knowledge of SP data aggregation platforms, familiarity with Veeva software tools including Network and Nitro are a plus
  • Strong technical toolkit: advanced SQL, Python, dbt or comparable transformation framework, and AWS/S3 or equivalent cloud infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to model data thoughtfully, with opinions on grain, naming, and structures that hold up over time
  • A scrappy, builder orientation. Comfortable in environments where the playbook is still being written, and able to push back on vendors and stakeholders without burning bridges
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical tradeoffs to non-technical commercial leaders
