Job description

Slippery Rock University (SRU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO).

The Chief Information Technology Officer serves as the University’s senior technology executive, providing strategic vision, leadership, and executive oversight for IT operations. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administration, this role ensures that IT investments and initiatives directly support SRU’s mission, administrative efficiency, and long-term institutional success.

The CITO provides leadership and direction for a team of approximately 34 and oversees enterprise technology services, IT governance, cybersecurity, support for digital learning, and data strategy, balancing operational excellence with innovation. Additional IT services such as HR and Payroll, Finance and Procurement, the Student Information System, and Library Services are operated centrally by the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. As an executive leader, this role will cultivate strong strategy, partnerships with faculty, students, administrators, and external stakeholders at the campus- and system-levels to drive a collaborative, forward-looking technology strategy.
